Dan York LOST and Reckless, without Matt Allen!!

I don't get why WPRO management would even consider putting Raina with Dan.
I like Raina, but she's completely different in her delivery than Dan is. Where would Matty go...I think you guys are wrong on this one.
Do y ou remember when they tried Matty with Jen on Sat mngs. What a disaster.
Matty alone was (and is) terrific, but having the two together was impossible to
listen too....waiting for them to kill each other.
Dan has the #'s, why fool around with it.

Well I Love Matty as an air talent. I think the guy is great. I know that I come on here and criticize a lot of people. I don't hold back. Maybe that's my problem. Perhaps I'm a little to honest. But there is always a reason behind it. However with Matty, I can't even think of a single thing in the world that's a negative. He's really on the ball with his perspective on things. The guy in underrated by WPRO management and I think he deserves his own show. Simple as that. I know what sounds good and Matty is it!

Now with Raina, I can't even give a valid opinion on how her performance will be. I don't know how she'll meld with Dan. Let's see if it happens first. Then I'll be able to comment. I just think she would give Dan's show a badly needed facelift. That's why I support the idea at this time. I think Dan needs something new on his show. Why not Raina? Let's give it a shot.

mrs joy, skynet74, I think Buddy is going to be Dan's side kick. Dan has pretty much said it on his show
I wonder how that will go?
I've spoken to Raina. She knows nothing about a partnership with Dan.

My best to you!
Chatty. :)

Buddy with Dan? Cool. I like that as well. I know that Buddy has had his problems in this state. However I've always liked the guy. I support him having a show. Martha Stewart has prison time under her belt as well. That would never have a negative influence on my decision to hire her for a broadcast position. Same thing goes for Buddy. If I owned a radio station I would be proud to have Buddy working on my station.

when does Raina Smith start with yorke? She is an amazing talent and will help his struggling show.

There are lots of guys "in the big leagues" who would KILL to work at WPRO/Providence.

Not really-- big guys are avoiding Citadel because of really, really low pay and "at-will" contracts. Know people turning them down.

You REALLY think Yorke didn't apply to WRKO? Who we kidding here?

Dan's waiting by the phone for New York to call. LOL. But similar to Depetro he would probably be lost in a different city. That's the problem with one trick ponies who only know politics. You take them out of their element and you end up with three hours of the host saying "UM-DUUHH".

RE "That's the problem with one trick ponies who only know politics."

Dan doesn't own that one. EVERYWHERE I GO, I hear hosts over-estimating listeners' appetite for politics, and windy discussions of arcane public policy process that only applies to a fraction of the station's geo-footprint. Notwithstanding a pile of research demonstrating that Homer and Marge Diarykeeper just are NOT interested.

As usual you are 100 percent correct! This is why a little more comedy and general light hearted conversation is always very welcome on my radio. I had to go out and buy a SIRIUS subscription to finally get that kind of programming.

Which is why you're logged in here 24-7 with your 1-man minstrel show.Maybe the people who actually work in and listen to Providence terrestrial radio should post here and you should post on the sat radio board.

LOL..... That's great. I agree with someone here who works in the industry and for some odd reason that bothered you. Very interesting. I wonder what station you work at. The chilly morning air must have put you in a bad mood. Don't worry. It's going to warm up tomorrow. ;D
