Dan Yorke at it again with Senior callers

From 3 to 4 pm today Dan Yorke declared he didn't have any calls for the hour. Later he stated 'the old people' were calling and he doesn't want the 'old geezers' on the air!
Dan I,,, I bet WE, can promise you, we won't change the dail, if you put someone over 60 on!
In life, I've learned ALLOT more from those Senior people, than younger then me!
I'm in my 30s. I perk my ears, when I hear a smart caller, YOUNG or OLD!

TAKE THE SENIORS CALLS DAN! ;)

Older people must scare him. They have more life experience than him, so he's probably intimitated to talk to anyone who may know more than he does. What a silly little freak.

He did this same crap when he was only doing 3 hour days. What is his excuse for doing it then then?

Good point Skynet. Too bad Whjj didn't put Helen against Dan. When he made those hurtful remarks I believe hundreds of listeners would have tuned in Helen. Dan has an audience with nowhere to go to!

Yeah Dan is essentially in a contest with himself. It's easy to have the highest ratings in town when there is nobody up against you. I just put on my running shoes, then went outside and had a race with myself. Guess what happened? I WON!

Gee... how impressive. ::)

So he didn't want to air the "old geezers" and as a result had nobody to put on the air. So must we surmise that
the old folks are really the only audience he has???

Yeah, he has nobody against him. Just two nobodies named Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

First of all.... when I made that comment, he wasn't up against Rush at all. He came on AFTER Rush. Secondly WHJJ has been out of the race for a while. They lost all their ratings once they experimented with Air America. Hannity may have ratings somewhere. But my point is that HJJ has none. You are essentially looking at a one horse race. WPRO is the only game in town until HJJ gets some listeners back. As it stands TODAY .... Dan is now in a race with a handicapped boy who is in a wheelchair. It's a little more competition than a few weeks ago. But not much more.

Something was going on Today. Dan didn't want to get into it. He tried to keep the topic on what is happening in State gov't. Rather than the antics on The Trail.

He should have talked about what is happening on the trail. That is something I would have tuned in for. The politics schtick is a borefest.

And therein lies your problem. You're more interested in what goes on in the buildings than on the air.

That is the problem here on this board...everybody thinks the world revolves around this board. I think Dan's show has been spot on for months now with the issues, while everyone here don't like it...sorry to say I'm guessing most of you are not in the demo they are looking for (except for maybe Mrs joy and WC, I'm just barely in it). let's set the "way back machine" to New Year's Eve 1989 to ring in the last decade of the millenia and dropped in the lap of Mary Ann Sorrentino, Sherm Strickhauser, Steve Kass, Ron St. Pierre, Steve White, Et Al...the credit union crisis. How did a lot of the careers of a lot of politicians get ruined during that...by the outrage and talk that was drummed up on talk radio about backroom deals and corruption. I know a lot of you were still watching Sesame Street at the time, so it doesn't hit home; but Dan's topics of late that have been railed against here have the taste of what went on some 18 years ago.

Look at JD...how did he get to Boston....Plunderdome. If it had never happened...he'd have been in the bloodbath that ocurred almost a year ago over at Clear Channel.

It's not a problem at all. It's personal preference. I've always enjoyed the programs that break down the 4th wall and take you behind the scenes. There is something very appealing about a show that makes the listener a part of everything that's going on. When Dan has honest guy talk with Matty about how Gay his website photo looks (or) about how he just got a memo from the boss that he doesn't agree with, these are the things that I think make the show great! This is the side of radio that I personally enjoy. IT'S REAL AND I LOVE IT! I don't give a crap about politics. It's boring to me. I enjoy light hearted radio that can put me in a good mood. Nothing good comes from corruption. We obviously listen to talk radio for two very different reasons. There is nothing wrong with that. There are enough programs on the dial for everybody. But don't ever make the mistake of thinking someones personal preference is a problem. That is when you suddenly become the one with the problem.
