Dan Yorke took a few minutes at the end of his show last night to address the program switch.
He was very professional and classy in his comments.
Says he totally surprised and shocked when told about it~WPRO management has been very good to him and continues to be~he and management have "extended" their committment~said it would be hypocritical of him to piss and moan about his job being affected by his company reorganizing when he's on the air commenting on how state workers etc need to accept the same types of situations~thinks the midday time slot in talk radio is no longer the dead zone it once was~all of his sponsors are moving with him to the midday and thanked them for their incredible loyalty to him~looking forward to dinnner with his wife, watching his daughters afterschool swim meets.....and my favorite...he's looking forward to taking a big huge microphone and shoving it in the faces of General (start at 4:00 pm) Assembly members. ;D
Very classy comments from Dan. The man is a real pro.

Well he is trying to make the best out of the situation. Nothing wrong with that. That's a better option than choosing to be miserable about it.

I cant figure out why YoYo is making fun of him. I believe there will be changes down the road at WPRO because of the condidtion Citadel is in. Bitch and moan all you want if you don't like him but it does show class from him and it seems The Trail's management team is trying thier best to keep as many people there and local as long as they can.A few years ago we all complained about Clear Channel firing people left and right now we have a better understanding why VT'ing and Bird feed now dominates Providence airwaves. Its eather the piped in crap or a dark station.I think it's time we cut these guys a break and accept VTing has replaced the live Jock and the local flavor on most talk stations has gone. We are very lucky in Providence to have WPRO/WEAN still local talk because I'm sure there are markets with nothing.
So I have one queation to ask.

YOYORadio what station and time are you on so I can check in on your airshift?

You're absolutely right kenwood. We are very lucky to have the vibrant local talk radio we currently have.
It really is tremendous and hopefully we can hang onto it in the future.
Regarding yoyo, so bitter it's actually funny.
