DANBURY CT STATION FLIPS TO COUNTRY

Sorry, but if I can't pull in the signal in my backyard in the Bronx, it's not a New York City-grade signal!

The original poster "frozenfiresb" did not claim that it was a "NYC grade" signal; just that this station is the "closest" country music signal to NYC in some time.

Yes...it's a Class A signal that's over 50 miles from NYC. It can barely be heard anywhere south of Northern Westchester/Putnam counties, so it has virtually no chance to affect the NYC market (as it had no effect under its previous formats).

I love my WDHA but here in Stamford CT... now I have to hear county trying to get WDHA... AHHH! WDBY wins out around here but on the I-95 corridor since its on the coast is WDHA VS WDBY mix and match toss up

In the meantime, I'm sure the late Dene Hallam appreciates the name of the new country station...

WDBY probably comes in booming in the South Salem area (where not many people live), but for most of central to southern Westchester, 105.5 is unlistenable on either end because of terrain and distance. I live 15 minutes northwest of White Plains and in my house, WDBY dominates, but neither is listenable while driving around.

You can't get a listenable signal from WDBY unless you are north of White Plaines and even there you have WDHA mixing in......Anywhere south of there and WDHA overpowers WDBY pretty much everywhere.
