Dance, Different types? Different crowds?

1)Circuit,dance, Diva, Pop remixes = Gay/Straight women & men with a tad of metro sexuals.

2)Trance, House = Straight hardcore club party people, with some ppl from crowd #1

3)Euro, Hardcore = Europeans with "fast" music backgrounds with some appeal from crowd #1 and ppl with Spanish influence.

Hmm, yah I'd have to agree with this, a little adjustment though...

1)Circuit,dance, Diva, Pop remixes = Gay/Straight women & men with a tad of metro sexuals.

2)House = club party people, but typically these people are separate from the trance crowd. I LOVE trance but dislike house very much

3)D&B = umm sorta thier own group...

4)Trance/Vocal Trance/NRG/Hardcore/EuroTrance = This is my group.. many NRG ravers love this type of music, although there are some from crowd #1, and of course europeans. Trance/EuroTrance (IE Oceanlab/Cascada) seems to get a positive rating from the same people. I guess Spanish? Haven't noticed this

5)EuroDance/Eurobeat (Not Cascada/Groove Coverage/etc) = Probably more of crowd #1, I don't hear much of this music played at any clubs I frequent.

I'm part 2 part 3. I like commercial trance[the stuff from germany[dj manian projects, and stuff like that], also love some vocal trance[fav voclalists include justine suissa, kirsty hawkshaw[I know I spelt that one wrong], etc], hardcore, euro, and a few house tracks and tech house tracks that catch my ear[hydra - we don't believe, deep dish - say hello , etc.
There are so many different types of people liking different variations of edm.

Cool Post!

I can notice a huge difference in the crowds and vibes depending on what type of music is playing in a club.

For example, this weekend, we all went out to Crobar here in Miami... and they were playing a lot of circuit music. The crowd was generally straight.. meaning we didnt see a bunch of dudes dancing around on the main floor with their shirts off... the club had no vibe whatsoever and it was just a poor night all around. - no energy at all... a lot of the diva screaming anthems, and it was hard for me and my party to get into the music.

As for a Trance/House crowd...
I think these 2 need to be seperated. Two totally different crowds. The Trance crowd seems to be a lot more uptight & passionate about the music.. They DON'T like the commercial stuff period. If it's too commercial sounding.. then it's cheese.. and the DJ sold out to the mainstream crowd. If they like a song, then <u>MEN</u> will talk about how "beautiful" and "stunning" the song was.

Whenever I see a big name at a club (for instance Armin van Buuren a few weeks ago), it's a total different feeling and vibe in the club than say an Erick Morillo. The Trance crowd seems more artsy and poetic. They are the one's that will stand in a room filled with a thousand people and type in the tracklists of each song played into their cell phones all night. Don't ask me why, but I see it everytime I go to a trance night here.... Then they like to post tracklists and bash the dj the next day on message boards all over the net. If the dj does not play their fav. song at the moment... then the Dj sucked that night. With a trance crowd.. its all about the music that night.. forget being out and having a good time with the trance die hards. True Trance diehards don't care about mingling.. all they care about is the DJ and what songs he/she is playing.

As for a House crowd...
This is the laidback crowd... It's all about good music, partying, and hooking up. Sure, if the DJ is trainwrecking a lot that night, they will blast him the next day.. but usually the House crowd could careless about the music.. As long as this crowd is having a good time out... then the DJ was "sick" that night.

Breakbeat crowd...
This format tends to bring out more of the candyravers.. kids just getting into the scene... Most of the Trance/House crowd dislikes Breaks. The only breakbeat clubs that I have seen have been in Orlando, Tampa, Dallas, Jax, FL.. and that's about it. Not very big in other parts of the country.

Trance/Vocal Trance/NRG/Hardcore/EuroTrance crowd..
I have been to two clubs that plays this type of music (Maniquins in Orlando, Studio 54 Vegas).. By far the best club nights I have ever had. The crowds were all tourists, but the commercial music is what people love. I wish more clubs down here in Miami would play this type of music, but this takes it back to what I was saying about the true trance die hards... A club like this would never work down here, because this type of music is considered CHEESE.

This is by far my favorite format but it's not playing in the clubs down here :(<P ID="signature">______________
