so as i was have alittle get together at my house in Bartlett IL getting ready for fireworks, i remembered that our town broadcasting music on 88.5FM that goes along with fireworks. As i tuned my radio to 88.5FM all i got was Pure Dance music. as i got excited i called my neighbor that lives a few streets away and they as well just heard pure dance music. I called another friend that lives further in town and they were only hearing music going along to the fireworks. So i guess someones running a pirate here in my town, ive been listening for about an hour and they have top hits like plummit, cascada, jenna drey, jonathan peters, and remixes of pussycat dolls. tell me what u guys think!

100% dance, no bullshi*, looks like someone really watches the charts. yes there were remixes of like gwen stefani and pussycat dolls, but those are current hits....nonetheless, it was really exciting to hear this station. i tried listening this morning but its not coming in well, i think i could hear it..

Keep listening, make sure it is not someones Ipod, Sirius or XM FM Modulator. Other possibilities could be, someone is transmitting the Music Choice (or something similar) audio. Setup correctly, FM Modulators can travel a few blocks or more.

If not, then someone is certainly transmitting some signal. Do they ever ID? E-mail address? Sweepers, anything dropped in? Are the songs butt up against each other? Professional sounding, or 5 seconds gap between songs?

Unless someone is on 87.9, or even 88.1 in your area, 88.5 is an odd frequency to select, that is why I am pegging it to be a mini FM modulator/transmitter.<P ID="signature">______________
