Dance Music on Open House Party

This is a very popular show across America and since it doesn't seem to be infected with the payola/indie virus that plagues almost all of the Top 40 stations in the country, it plays a lot of stuff that you can't hear on the radio - namely lots and lots of dance music. Hmmm... What does this say to the naysayers who believe dance should be kept underground?

When it first started, Open House Party was actually an extremely dance-intensive show. Of course, this was in the early 90's when the dance boom was pretty big. They've gone much more mainstream since, but I don't think anyone will complain that this is still a valuable outlet for dance music in the states.

Plus on a Fri and Sat night you want to ...."dance", so dance is played heavily. Now if you put OPH at the 2-6p spot with dance.....many will not tune in.

I love it when people talk about indies and payola like they have a clue.

You're blaming that for the lack of Dance Music at Top 40?

And why would you assume that Open House Party was an exception? Just because they play Dance records from time to time?

To see who has been implicated by the State of New York, go to their website. They have FULL documentation, including specific emails that show who did what when. It's a VERY interesting read.<P ID="signature">______________
