Danielle leaving WEEI

The station has an image problem since it is seen as the “uncool” sports talk station for some reason. I don’t know what the answer is but getting rid of Dale probably is a step in the right direction to move away from the same tired voices.

If they could somehow get someone to jump from The Sports Hub, that would seem to be their best bet. Someone like Bertrand or Big Jim Murray who could move into AM or PM drive and bring some listeners with them.

Ratings wise, the quickest fix would be to reunite the Kirk and Callaghan show, but that could create advertiser backlash.

The station has an image problem since it is seen as the “uncool” sports talk station for some reason.

Hmmm, what could that reason possibly be? The racism? The harassment? The terrible politics? Their only PBP contract being that of a bad team in a geezer sport?

As long as Sports Hub dominates in AM/PM Drive that's all they really care about. Bringing in G or T to EEI midday doesn't do much to change either station situation. So what? Putting them in PM drive I don't see working either.
I can think of a few personnel I'd like to see gone on both sports stations. Danielle wasn't one of them.

I know Boston is considered a big sports town but perhaps not big enough to support two sports stations.

Maybe Entercom blows it up and goes in a different direction entirely?

They have Sox games through 2023.

What would they do with them if they switch formats ?

The reality is they've badly bungled the whole thing. (1) Got beat to the FM side by the Hub; (2) let Felger slip through their fingers; (3) lost the Celtics play-by-play go to the Hub; (4) blew up their morning drive by mishandling Minihane; (4) lost one of their biggest attractions in their regular Brady interviews. Ok, so (5) wasn't from their mismanagement, but it's a factor in their decline. Add to that the pathetic Red Sox performance last year (and likely this). Not sure how anyone could put Humpty Dumpty together again.
