A shame...a hard worker and very talented man. And so another Clear Channel station goes to zero employees as they try to figure out how they're going to pay back $21b in debt. What's next....get rid of all the pencils?

A sad day indeed. Although the fate of AM Radio is pretty well set, it doesn't diminish the fine work of a pro like Danny Davis.
As has been stated..a hard working talented radio pro. Where will it all end?
Looks like Bryan Allen was shown the door today as well. Jim Wilson, the GSM of KFYI and KGME resigned the other day, though no idea if it was related to the other two. Anyone else out today? Is anyone even left on the 4th floor over at 44th and Van Buren??
So sad for Bryan Allen, he was probably the nicest person in that entire building. Billy Michaels of KNIX was also let go. I heard there were several others, just don't know who.
Any one know if Phil Steiner, Dave Appleford, or Melissa Sharpe made it through? Can't think of any other live jocks at CC?
People like Danny Davis are the human connection to radio stations that increasingly sound bland and disconnected. Radio executives have ruined the industry and somehow seem to be under the misapprehension that only they can save it.
That's like putting Christianity in the hands of Pontius Pilate.
If Danny Davis wants to continue in the business he's so good at, I hope it happens. Unfortunately, radio is a masochistic trade, and no matter how well you communicate and how much joy you bring to others, it often ends with a cold, detached dismissal.
It's a sick irony that radio at its best involves warmth and friendliness, but the treatment accorded employees is often lacking in both.
Danny, you're one of radio's best, and I wish you well.
I usually listen to him in the mornings before work. I enjoy his "Timeline trivia".
I tuned in this morning, it sounds like satellite radio. Bland & boring. I'd rather listen to my MP3 player.
I guess I'll be going back to the KOOL morning show now. Danny was a throwback to the DJ's of old and I really enjoyed his show - both the morning drivetime and also his Friday afternoon sock hop. Tom and Maria aren't quite as entertaining but are the next best thing.
I forgot to add that it sounds like the station is running on autopilot too.
They played a Liberty Buick commercial & one of the many I-heart promos over the song "My Girl' by the Temptations. It's almost like no one up there is even listening/paying attention to what is going out over the air.
This wasn't the first time I've heard commercals playing over songs, or 2 commercials playing at the same time. Anything to save a few bucks I guess?
I've listened to Danny from my office in NYC off and on for 15 years. Now who do I listen to tommorrow? He is one of the last real radio Hosts in the world. Good Luck to him.
