WOW! I didn't know the correct way to put out a CODE RED was by using the Fire Sale! I always thought long-term commitments and solid relationships we're key here? I guess it's just more double talk, a friendly suggestion to prevent any future "Rain Delays" at Dark Cloud would be to at least try to keep the lies straight. Oh and you might not want to send a proposal to an advertiser with every name but their own on it. Good job! SLAM DUNK~ (has anyone seen that purse?)
 
I hear they are scrambling at the cloud company in Rockford. Word on the street is that the gm and gsm's heads are on the chopping block. It's also rumored that they are for sale, so I don't think they really care about long term relationships at this point. Not that they ever did.

OK Lets have a little radio fun... If the Cloud Company is for sale who would be a good buyer??? Rockford is not even on the radar for CC, Citadel, Entercom, or CBS. Would NRG be a good fit??? They already have a few stations that are rim shooters, but WSJY comes in like a local station so here goes... If NRG were to buy the Rockford cluster what kind of changes would they make... I am sure that Storg would be put in place on The Eagle and be VT'ed, but with a local slant... ZOK would be left alone as well as Q 98.5... Would NRG make any changes to ROK... The way I see it this would really give NRG a good step into Rockford plus with SJY they could spice things up a bit and give B 103 a run for the money... The way they do it is by getting the Lite 107.3 name out there which means being active in all community functions even more so the ones that a geared towards females... I know I am crazy, but hey anything is possible... CC1
 
How about that company that just bought many of the small markets from Clear Channel?

Good Radio its called run by Dean Goodman.

I think they'd be interested (maybe).
 
Talked to RVP at Cumulus in Atlanta and Rockford is not for sale. Actually they are looking to buy another FM. Wouldnt say which one, but he said it will happen by Fall 07.

Wonder what they are looking at.
 
Can The Cloud Company own another station in Rockford... WYRB has a very good signal in Rockford, but Crawford would want an arm and a leg for that station... Once again there is SJY, but how much would NRG want to get out of that station... Other than those two stations there is not much playing room The Cloud Company would have because you can't really move any other stations closer to Rockford I don't believe... CC1
 
I don't know about another station, but my sister who is my "radio insider", told me over the weekend about the Cumulus companies HUGE moves!! Not only are they going to basically re-staff their entire sales staff, BUT they are trying to talk a radio on air "team" from the other company in Rockford into joining THEIR rock station!
This would be BIG!!!!
 
Would Cumulus go back west and possibly purchase one of the Freeport stations again?
They had previous ownership in them years ago. Would they try to move them east towards Rockford?
Would the current Big Radio ownership want or need to sell some properties off?
Just curious...
 
WOW!!! I learned something with this thread!!! Besides XXQ what other stations did The Cloud Company own in Freeport??? I know Radio Works/Maverick owned the ones that Scott T LMA'ed, but never knew about Cumulus... CC1
 
A little birdie told me that all the hubbub at The Cloud Company is the direct result of a "Whistle Blower." I'm really not surprised by this, given that is 2007 and all. Perhaps that Chopping Block came with a little duct tape!
