Darrington Rock Festival - Anyone Go ?

I am just curious....I had heard that the KZOK sponsored Darrington Rock Festival went a little 'bad'. I heard that all the major bands (Cheap Trick...etc) had canceled because the promoter failed to come up with the cash for the bands.

Anyone know is this true or not? Thanks in advance.
 
yeah, went friday night. yes, cheap trick no-showed. darrington folks have a habit of not securing acts. last year someone bailed out cause they didn't have hotel rooms.
kzok's not to blame, but if i was them i'd take a hard look at supporting people that can't get thier crap together. it makes them look responsible.

luckily we had comp tix, if i had to pay $75 for two cover bands and the outlaws, i'd be pissed....
 
No....I wasn't blaming KZOK....I too had some comp tickets and gave them to a buddy who is a HUGE Cheap Trick fan. He said they were a no show and I just wondered what the scoop was.

Band showed up only to learn they weren't getting the back half of the contracted pay. No money, no music. Apparently it's happened before.
