Data Doctors go National

Read today that Data Doctors are pitching their show nationally. Didn't someone say they stopped taking live calls on the show awhile ago? Well now we know why.. I wonder if stations will pick them up outside of arizona.

Leo Laporte is still the best.

Kim is OK.

Data Doctor's is ...oh, I guess, not worth syndication.

I gave them a listen yesterday. Did not like it, it was not an interesting show like it used to be, it was two guys trying real hard to sound hip and cool, but there was non "there" there (with apologies to Oakland).

The core of the show was: my computer is broken, how do I fix it? Now its, "hey, listen to how edgy and cool we are trying to be!"

Bleah

Wonder how many fake "hackers" they will tell the world are real and interview on the air saying it is some exclusive interview?

;D All of them! ;D ;D

I've listened to the Data Doctors for about 10 years. I liked how their show was local and answered questions. They've always tried to sound "young and hip." I think that's the reason why they now brought on a third person to skew their age down.

The reason why their national show might work is name recognition. They've got stores around the country. Listeners could recognize the name and would tune in.

I agree, i like the callers and them trying to solve the computer issues, from that I learned alot. Now its just a sown on Apple, Droid and the other new technology thats out there.

I listen to DD via podcast, sadly kim charges for her podcast's...

I want the old Data Docs back!

edit to add: When they do have a "caller" you can tell its a voicemail message. ::)

I used to love listening to their show, but these days it sounds like an infomercial.
Plus all they talk about is Ipads, I-phones, etc.

An infomercial for Apple.

Why does "Bababooey, Bababooey...Stern rules!" come to mind?
I guess when that happens, you've gone national.

Good luck to DD nonetheless.
