wow seems to me alot of mainstream bands are kinda crossing over to the christian market shouldnt it be the other way around?

Why should it be the other way around? Contemporary Christian radio has a very strong base. Plus as rockers age, a lot of them head towards making music that is more reflective of their beliefs or morals, which often become more conservative as people age. Look at folks like former Kansas vocals John Elefante or former Grand Funk guitarist Mark Farner. Granted, they're very old examples, but examples nonetheless.

A Christian artist, whose music is driven by a deep-rooted faith, would be far less likely to abandon his roots to 'go for the gold'.

That brings to mind the Kerry Livgreen's (Kansas lead guitarist and main songwriter) solo album, Seeds Of Change. It was in the realm of Christian before it was popular to do so.

Daughtry
Natasha Bedingfield
The Fray
Lifehouse
Switchfoot
Creed
Sixpence None The Richer
Jars Of Clay (Song: Flood)
Superchic[K]
dc Talk (Song: Jesus Freak)
Anberlin
Evanescence
Aly & AJ
The Jonas Brothers
Amy Grant
MxPx
P.O.D.

...have all crossed over in one format or another. It's not that uncommon. Granted some of these artists are more Christian than others, but these are some examples that come to mind.

don't forget Dion
and Elvis and Johnny Cash on another level

You could also maybe consider Josh Turner in that number

......and U2. Okay, I can understand the appeal due to their humanitarian causes, but could somebody explain to me how "Vertigo" is considered Christian, since it's played on many Christian/Gospel channels? Just because it contains the words "Jesus 'round her neck" doesn't necessarily make it a "Christian" song.

Dude, I already answered this question for you a few months ago:

Michael W. Smith(Place in this Worls)
Collective Soul
not Stryper though.

Wherever the dollar signs are is what I say. Plus, all the aforementioned are, well, not so good. Makes sense to sell you formulaic tripe to those seeking a palatable message. No judgment

1) I didn't read your reply. It must've gotten lost among a bunch of other topics around that time. 2) Besides, you really expect me to remember back a couple of months ??? Hell, I can't even remember this morning!

And, still, just because some artists follow the Christian faith, they and their lyrics can't be appreciated by Buddhists, Agnostics, Atheists and the like? Of course an artist would create their art around what influences them. So, now where is the Buddhist radio? Why isn't there a Buddhist format?
