DAVE: i rarely listen to it anymore, though i did flip over to it a couple of times recently... will there be any signature event marking the transformation as complete, like the introduction of the latest Kenny Wayne Shepherd track by their new DJ "Harley"? sheesh. I decided to flip to "All Access" this morning for 20 mins. Awful.
seriously, is anyone else starting to think it's programmed by a 45-year old stoner in between bong hits?
99x: i'm a couple of weeks shy of 38. When i first moved to Atlanta 3 yrs. ago, i thought your station really sucked. Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd? Go on & stab my eardrums with an icepick, it's more pleasant. It wasn't on my radar... it was exclusively WSB-AM in the mornings for me, station-surfing other times of day.
then i started seeing signs around town mentioning 90s alternative, & i tuned in. You had dropped most of the crap rock. Started to like it. Discovered Steve and Axel, who i really enjoy as DJs. Then you expanded it, started playing some 80s stuff -- even better. Obviously an attempt to skew older. So why are you now constantly playing that awful, awful Fall Out Boy song? is there anyone over 14 who likes this song or this band? Going for a younger audience again? you're losing me again.. make up your mind.
then again, would it even matter for you guys? i've been called at least twice and asked if i'd be willing to take a survey on what stations i listen to. Sorry. You probably can't win any way you go..
musically for me, the best thing ATL has had while i've been here was the weekends on the short-lived "Real Radio." Freaking awesome programming... drop the Billy Idol and it sounded like something i would've put together myself.
My father over Thanksgiving showed me a new XM radio he got & was telling me i can piggyback on his subscription for only $7 per month. I'm thinking Santa may be bringing me one... a big upside is airwaves not controlled by fundie religious kooks.
