I just saw that Dave and Jimmy lost an affilite in Ohio. What do you all think the chances are that KISS fm does the same thing here? Would they go with another syndicated show, give mike miller another shot, or go with a new local DJ. What do you all think?

I think Mike is doing better in the afternoons. Dave and Jimmy have to be dropped, but the solution is a tough one.

I would try to syndicate the real Morning Mess (Jason, Kelly, and Gavin) out of Cali. They can still have Bob and Chris doing the local news and traffic.

Either that or look for talent outside of the radio broadcasting circle. KISS FM is a station that does it all wrong. They need to have a week of "try-outs" where they allow regular 20-somethings with no broadcasting experience an opportunity to take the gig. It would increase ratings, build website traffic for voting, and reconnect with the younger local listeners.

If Bob Hauer wasn't busy doing the news for multiple stations, I would have him do mornings. He's fun and into sports.

So there you have it. Three possibilities for KISS FM. I personally think that the syndicated Morning Mess show would be a success. That's if their PD still allows their creative juices to flow.

For option #2, CC would have to step up and offer something the other stations don't. They would have to open up the lines for requests in the morning. Also, have some sort of poll or a short "issues" segment. But the "try-out" idea is, in my opinion, brilliant. Of course you wouldn't have just anyone on there. But I think they could find at least 5 people who are really passionate about radio, have no experience, and would appreciate the opportunity.

For option #3, I'm not sure who would pair well with Bob. Surely they could find someone in sales department with some on-air talent that isn't doing anything.

Bob Huaer does live news breaks with The River and Bob twice an hour, and possibly WHP 580. I think Chris Garret would be interesting. What about OC and Miller together? Or possibly Matt Meyer aka Big Time opperator? What do you think?

I'll be an armchair PD here.... Miller and OC are two of the most talented people on the air right now.. One or both of them could craft a morning show that would be huge. There is no shortage of talent there that's for sure. So far every name mentioned would bring something to the table.

If you are referring to Dayton, the new show has been on for 2 weeks now. Elvis Duran and The Morning Show syndicated out of NY. They are also on in Cleveland.
