Dave Cook now on Star

I was listening to star 100.7 this afternoon and Dave Cook is now on the air. Does anyone know if Johnny Hartwell was retained?

I believe that he's just filling in. I've heard him on Y108 the last couple of Saturday nights.

Considering CBS Radio relieved him of his job back in November, I am very surprised to find out he is back with them. Not a knock on CBS, I thought his termination was permanent.

Well, Megan is back with CBS at the X, now Dave is back at Y108 and STAR. Hmmm, could O'rilee and the rest suddenly reappear? Maybe "The Man Station" is preparing for the change back to music again down the road and they are feeding them in as fills for now on the other stations?

CBS probably let him go early as a favor because they knew the switch was coming, giving a chance to find other work if he wanted. Plus I'm sure that he got a nice little severance when he was let go.

The only sad thing is, apparently he either couldn't find other work or he decided not to try which I believe is a great waste of his talent.

I bet eventually, star will find a fulltime spot for Dave.

I don't know about that.

They recently downsized their morning show. They probably would want to fill the midday slot with a female (perhaps that Ally who has been doing nights and was previously on K-Rock). Scott Alexander isn't going anywhere. I don't know where they would put him.

Plus, if they were looking to place him full-time on Star, why would they have him on Y108 as well?

When Dave was fired from CBS Radio the first time, he went to Erie to do part time on a country station (since under the clause of his severance he could not go full time in another market). Unless his severance ran out, he would only be a part time guy.

Off topic but was Keith Clark a DJ on B94 at one point YEARS ago?

And as for Dave still being in Pittsburgh, perhaps he has family ties in this area and really doesn't want to leave because of them or something, I don't know.....
