That's a very strong rumor that's been flying around. I guess LFM wants the Falcons in order to resurrect 790 but would obviously have to air the games on Star 94 also, which is interesting since Star targets females.
Adult formats usually lose significant listenership on weekends and evenings after PM drive. If Star was still trying to be a CHR that might be more of an issue. That's why adult stations often do something different during those timeslots--carry simul sports, do gimmick formats and shows (decades, countdowns, etc.), air shows that don't quite match the regular AM-to-PM drive formats (Delilah, Jazz Flavours, etc.).secondchoice said:I am not saying that Star and 790 are having cash issues, but it might be simple dollar and cents. There are 16 games (maybe up to 18 if the NFL can work an agreement the players union) plus the preseason games. Sundays are not usually huge revenue days. The Monday night games have been “downgraded” in favor of the Sunday night games so most of the Falcon games (as long as they continue to win) should be on Sunday. The three or four hour “tune out” listeners should be recovered by the morning show next morning. The night time “jazz” show did not kill Gary McKee back during 94Q days, so I do not think less that 100 hour a year will kill the Star. I am sure that someone has done the math and this makes financial since for Lincoln. This can only help 790 and most likely increase the value of 94.1 and 790 when (or if) they are sold.

There's an AC or CHR station in Green Bay, WIXX, that airs the world champion Packers.
