DAVE-FM MAKING PPM MOVES

Either CBS just doesn't care anymore or the 3 year PD is holding photos.

Are they doing anything in the money demos? Would they do better as a PEACH like AC? Sheesh

Dave is...tied for 17th with A 25-54, and tied 23rd with M 25-34. I don't know what the money demos are but I see these two taked about on this site.

There are still so many commercials on Dave though - it's a small, extremely wealthy niche of an audience, which is why AAAs all over the country survive with ratings like this

In general, people who listen to AAA tend to have a LOT of money to spend, apparently

Or management is forcing you to run spots on dave in order to run spots on V. That's what I would do if I was in charge.

With WALR 7.5 (6+) and WAMJ 5.4 both urban AC's (maybe even better demo's spendable income wise) and WHTA 5.7 all being in the top 10 even the might V could not get away with that. Also how would a buyer explain the "off target" buy. You could buy Radio One's WAMJ and WHTA and have a 11.1 6+ verses WVEE"s 9.1 6+. Of course advertising is not purchased 6+. Except for a buy that has to cover the entire market (Utility Cable. Lottery, phone etc) V and Dave have little in common. I would have a hard time believing anybody buys Dave to get V103.

You're correct. They would never do that. If it came to that, they would have no choice but to kill Dave. A full-power FM used for bonus spots? A flip would happen before that would.

The sales strategy for AAA is, as noted in this thread, more psychographic in focus with an emphasis on discovery, aspiration and an active lifestyle. At last look Dave was still top 5 and comparable to WABE on indexing with high income, advanced education, purchase intent, etc. Inconsistency is an issue - from morning shows to music era selection - which can take the wind/confidence out of an air staff or sales department. CBS digital also has access to excellent content that is not being utilized. Hate to see CBS news go across the street. Context is by far my biggest beef with Dave. Jock chatter and content between the songs does not match the music position - songs about gardening at lunch.....please.....Tail wags the dog again...and how many times can Steve say Steve in one break? Note to jocks: Connection is about the other person in the conversation not you.
