Dave FM morning show out?

I've heard that Dave FM's morning show was let go today. ??? Any confirmation on that??
 
They are off the website. Music Mornings with Orff is back.

wow... yea I was a little shocked when I just heard Denzil do traffic and no sports followed by their continued obama love ::)
 
I would have really thought they would have waited until the Falcons season was over to can Zakk. Will Zakk appear on the Falcons broadcasts anymore?

Why let Jane go though? She was good fit for their shift to clearly target an extreme female demo.

I also heard they lost a long time engineer. Perhaps Taylorengineer can comment on this? Oh, that's right, he only trashes other companies for laying people off.....
 
I guess that means Zakk will also be gone from Falcons coverage. I thought he did a good job on his Falcons broadcasts.

Agree that Jane should have been kept around. She sounds great and could be paired with someone else.

The morning show merry-go-round at that place has been unbelievable. If they'd hired Steve Craig when they had the opportunity, things might have been a lot different there.
 
Zakk has a horrible voice suited only for kiddie radio at Disney. Can't believe he was hired in the first place. When I first heard him, I thought he was a stunt guy doing some kind of prank.

Z-NinetyDave continues its tradition of cluelessness.

The Tooting My Own Horn Department: I did say one of the new morning shows would be gone before the beginning of football season. I was off by a few weeks. Once I again, I was RIGHT!

Regarding Steve Craig joining DAVE, I think there was an issue with his Cumulus contract. Rodney may know more. If I remember correctly, he was out of contract in August but there was a local non-compete in force for six more months. If he signed with DAVE, he would have been off the air until February. That would mean he would be off the air in Atlanta for a year. People forget things in a year (except people on this board).

How about some props to the smartest person in Atlanta radio, Tim Orff? After a year and a half doing AM drive he accepts a demotion to nights and stays there. Most jocks would have left and gone to do AM drive in Macon. Tim sticks around knowing full well Zakk will get sacked and he, Tim, will be back on mornings. Well-played young man.

Now on to poor Jane. This young lady left her home, Chicago, and her tight Greek community to come down here. It didn't work out and now she has to go back the WLUP and beg for her old job back. I doubt she will get it. She may end up doing traffic but that's it. I always wondered about her and Zakk's "relationship." My guess is that after this, it's over. I wish her the best.

Lastly, all of this could have been avoided in early July of 2007 had Rick Caffey hired me as PD. One has to wonder how long PD Mike Wheeler will be at Colony Square after this hiring disaster.
 
Congrats to Tim Orff! I hope CBS doesn't just use him until the find someone they "THINK" is better.
Keep it simple stupid... Tim is your man.

Personally never liked Zakk on the Falcons coverage - mostly because it sounded like he couldn't say Falcons. Always came out as Fellcuns. Even worse than someone saying "Jag-wires" for Jacksonville's team.

If Steve was still around, he might still be doing PA for the Thrashers instead of Shafee - who sounds like he brings none of the enthusiasm Steve had for the job.
 
Mike Wheeler should be fired for that move. Zakk was ot cut-out for that role. Jane though she should stick around.

How committed is CBS to more music mornings. This is the 5th attempt at it which has followed their last five morning show failures.

Wheeler should also be fired for it's new musical direction. I know it is not Margot suggesting this. She is too much into music to fall for this bland, estrogen filled nonsense they call a playlist.

So, other than the Zack disaster and I think someone mentioned an engineer, how many other people got blown out at CBS Atlanta? Also, if Dave is now positioning itself as more music, does that mean they are going to get Mara to shut up? She talks more than they regular guys. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy hearing her comment on how it's a heavy flow day, but I would rather hear the Clash.....
