Dave Fogel out as morning man at WLS-FM

i thought Fogel was a WEIRDpick 2 years ago. he had never been in the format, he was doing A/C before he came there,so he didn't relate to the music and his Personality was not up to a Landecker,Winston or Biondi, let alone Morning Drive in Chicago, the numbers showed something was missing. Miller comming back,If that is their final choice for mornings is strange, because there must have been a reason they wanted him out 2 years ago? landecker & winston it is good to see the Vets comming back to WLS.

Miller is boring and does the weather at every break. Would of enjoyed Winston in the morning. Too bad Biondi is still stuck at 11-2AM. Bring back Ron Britain!!!!!

I think mornings with John Landecker (like in his days with WJMK-FM) would be cool. I would also like to see Dick Biondi go back to evenings, Fred Winston go to middays, Greg Brown stay on afternoons and Brant Miller out altogether.

What ever happened to Ron Brittian? I remember that he hosted the all request afternoon quite a few years ago.

He was doing the afternoons on Real Oldies 1690 when they first went on the air and had a disagreement with them and left not long after that.

I haven't heard anything about him since then. He only lasted a couple of months on Real Oldies didn't he?

Last I heard, Ron Brittain was living in Kentucky, maybe the Louisville area.

More likely the Cincinnati suburbs on the Kentucky side of the Ohio river. His longtime "home base".

I'm going to be passing through both Cincinnati and Louisville next week, so I'll make it a point to see if "King B" pops up anywhere on my radio dial. I doubt it. I think he's retired, but who knows.

"King B" is retired.

Me too, but I still work when the opportunity presents itself! ;D

It's only Tuesday, and already this week, I'm approaching 40 hours!

Seriously, I thought he was indeed retired, but as I said, "you never know". I was thinking more in terms of voiceover work, fill-in duty, etc.

Well if you hear him on your trip, please let me know. I loved the guy on WCFL. He was hysterical. It was fun listening to him on WJMK also. On WRLL, not so much, especially the way he left.

Remember those "King B Christmas calls?" and "Rex King?" Some of the funniest stuff ever on Chicago radio.

Since we have veered of topic, Ron Britain was in Cincinnati on WSAI beginning in 1960, and I used to listen to him in my hometown of Indianapolis lousy signal and all.

Switching between Dick Biondi and Ron Britain while parked at the Northwood Drive-in Reataurant on North Meridian Street. It doesn't get any better than that.

We even drove down to Cincinnati one weekend to see Ron at WSAI's Price Hill studios overlooking downtown Cincinnati.

That should quell any talk of 104.3 changing formats any time soon.

CBS must be with K-Hits for the long haul. The numbers aren't great 6+, but they must see some certain potential or area for growth. Chicago is certainly lucky to have two classic hits stations, quite rare.
