Dave Herman indicted. (federal court) (Newark, NJ)
Dave should have stayed on the air, kept busy & stayed out of trouble.

The former iconic WNEW-FM NYC DJ was accused last October of trying to transport a 7-year-old New Jersey girl to the U.S. Virgin Islands for sex. He was arrested at the St. Croix airport. Federal authorities say Herman had expected to meet the girl and her mother flying in from New York. Now he’s been indicted.

Full Story Here

" Attorney Marc Agnifilo said Herman received a photo from a female officer who made it clear that “the only way he could meet her was to engage in banter about the child.” "

That makes it sound like perhaps he pretended interest in the child in order to get up with the grownup.

As for

"The former iconic WNEW-FM NYC DJ was accused last October of trying to transport a 7-year-old New Jersey girl to the U.S. Virgin Islands for sex. He was arrested at the St. Croix airport. Federal authorities say Herman had expected to meet the girl and her mother flying in from New York. "

it sounds like it would have been the mother doing the transporting.

And the NY Daily News had a peculiar way of putting things:

"Jailed rock DJ Dave Herman was indicted Tuesday for enticing a 7-year-old girl into a trip to the Virgin Islands for a sexual encounter."

How does one entice someone who doesn't exist?

I notice there's no mention of who paid for "mom's" airfare.

Of course there could be plenty of stuff not yet revealed.
