Dave Hilton

According to Feder's column today, Dave Hilton is giving up his afternoon drive gig at WLIT to concentrate on his programming duties. I always thought he was a class act, even years ago when he was at the old WCLR.
Edited by KlunkLetter on 02/10/06 10:21 PM.

Actually it's his Production Director role.

I really enjoyed hearing him when I would listen to the Lite. He was a great personality.

Reading between the lines: Darren Davis is in the house and
has made a lot of changes to the presentation in the past
two weeks or so. Beds behind jock content, more jock talk,
etc. This is probably a way to keep Dave in the building
for prod but upgrade (ie: hire someone with a younger sound)
the PM drive show. Darren, by the way, has had quite a losing
track record in both TX and DC. Interesting to see that he
has been brought on board by the new market manager to run both
LIT and NUA. Not good.

I notice you didn't mention his successful run in Detroit.

Didn't know about that. Congrats to him. Not sure what makes
him ready to be a regional VP/programming and overall programming
VP for Chicago ahead of the other guys in that market...most of
which (ok, maybe not Rodney P. at Kiss 103.5) have more time in the
success column than that guy.

Actually, he was VP/programming in Detroit. Also covered their other Michigan markets.
