Cumulus is stuck with The Regular Guys (new contract and decent ratings for their demo). There aren't many formats that will go well with TRG besides some kind of album rock, except maybe country which won't happen (or my suggestion that they simul 680 outside of AM drive). Maybe Cumulus has found TRG a soft place to land elsewhere in the market (Project? A reincarnation of Z93?)kal30005 said:My guess is that oldies replaces 100.5 and 92.9 goes back to Z93 and more of a classic rock format.

Because all-news is expensive to program and probably going to have a tough time competing with WSB.

Don't understand how putting all news on 106.7 (and not 92.9) means it'll have an easier time competing with WSB
As 96 Rock used to say back when Z93 was classic rock, "Rock & Roll from A to Y, because nothing good starts with Z!"crguy said:Whoever posted the ratings for all those news stations for the top 10 markets should do the same for classic hits stations and we can see how they all are doing.
Every other top 10 market has a classic hits station that is doing great so having a format to yourself called z93 seems like a good idea.
I would suggest slicing up the chr pie even more than it is now would not be a smart move. And slicing up the rock pie hasn't done much for them over the past 10 years.
Now, what's the last letter in the alphabet?![]()

I could see this happening, based on what I have seen (and not seen) so far:atlantaboy said:If 92.9 does flip to Classic Hits, I think it's almost guaranteed that Cumulus will move 99X to a full signal (since Dave is what killed 99X's ratings in the first place, and this would leave a huge hole in the market for Alternative)

Whoops - sorry - thought for some dumb reason that 106.7 was a CBS stationFLjack2 said:atlantaboy said:kal30005 said:atlantaboy said:If CBS wanted to flip Dave, why wouldn't they have just put news on 92.9? (Which is a stronger signal than 106.7 anyway - I think)

92.9 is owned by CBS. 106.7 is owned by Cumulus. Cumulus wants to try all news in Atlanta, not CBS - hence: that's why the all news format will end up on 106.7

What full signal?
