Dave Newfell's "Foundcuts"

Apparently, the B101 jock hosts a weekly show whose premise is focusing on those "oh wow" forgotten hits from the 70's, 80's and 90's.

I was first tipped off about it in a blurb on AllAccess.com last month. I wanted to know more, so I Googled "Foundcuts" and I got just one result - a schedule for a Mississippi AM station that carries the show.

One month later, I am still getting that same result! It does not appear to have its own website.

I for one would like to know more about the show, as well as look forward to hearing it! And I wish it luck in that it gains more affiliates than that one AM station. It sounds like a show with a cool concept!

Yes...it's not easy to start a show like this....it has been in the planning stages for some time! We launched on August 2nd and now have a handful of stations of different shapes and sizes and a portal to come (see below) I've been told by syndicators that if I got 5 stations to start, I am doing okay! We'll see how it goes...now, back to the basement to find more "Foundcuts" to play! Dave [email protected]

• WJPA WASHINGTON, PA (PITTSBURG) CLASSIC/SUNDAY MORNING (10/08)

Why doesn't B101 run it?I realize you apparently play some 90s music but with the station running so much syndication I'm sure songs get played that aren't part of the regular playlist anyway. At least it would be syndication with a voice familiar to listeners.

The show is available in "classic" and "standard", with one playing some early 90s and only a few late 70s. The "classic" is 72-86. The new PD at B has a lot on his plate at the moment and is not interested in running the show at this time.
