Dave Pratt makes BIG announcement Monday!

He's buying the Buckeye Media Hut and shutting it down

Although I will definitely return to Phoenix radio or television, my announcement on Monday has nothing to do with either. I am still under contract as a fully compensated employee to CBS through 2011. Crazy huh? I know...... but until I can find a station and an opportunity to truly believe in, my broadcast career will stay on hold. However, I am very excited about my announcement on Monday, and I hope you will be excited to be a part of it. As I have mentioned several times, you don't need this board for anything concerning my career. It is much easier to simply email me direct at [email protected] Supporters and detractors are both welcome. That's the fun of it! I still personally read and return each correspondence. All I ask is that you use your real name and be honest. I look forward to keeping in touch.

Thanks,

Dave

Is it true that you will be hosting a Latvian Polka show on Channel 45?

And that your co-host will be Aquanetta, who has been dead for over a decade?

Its true, I heard it on the interwebs.

Oh Aquanetta.....how I miss you!

Jack Ross, but of course! And the correct spelling of The Venezuelan Volcano is Acquanetta. What all this has to do with Dave Pratt is a B grade mystery to the Nurse and me. hmmmmm...maybe we could trade the Gremlin in for a late model Comet ???

Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick mid '60s Lincoln Continental with
the suicide doors?

But if you really want a Comet, check with the Mayberry motor pool--besides
the Ford squad car (10-4!) they always kept a few Comets around for use by
assorted criminal types.

They used to call him Mr. Touchdown!

At least that is what the Forge Bird said.

Dang, I got it wrong again! I thought maybe the big news was that the Sex Machine Band was opening up for Macca!
:D

That's BRILLIANT!! Combine two of the day's big announcements, too. That would be something. I like it!

I'm sorry, but I seem to be unable to grasp the importance of this announcement.

Dave Pratt - arguably the biggest name in Phoenix radio - has a blog on AZ Central?

I hate to break it to you, but just about anybody can have a blog on AZ Central. All you've got to do is fill out a few profile questions and you can start blogging. Why is this a big deal?

I gotta agree. Who was time to read more web sites? I barely have enough time to keep up with daily bookmarks, even on my cell phone. Meanwhile, one of the most legendary AM/FM DJ's in the country, whom we are fortunate the have right here in our backyard, is retiring from KUPD, and sources like the ones cited elsewhere on this thread, seem to have a moratorium on that announcement. Life is so not fair.

Dave, I love you, man, I appreciate all you have done for the community here, but you belong on AM/FM radio, not a blog.

hmmmmm....Bruce Williams is hanging it up and that leaves three hours to fill at the Big 15~Ten. Has the Morning Mayor ever done nights on a hundred watter?

No more Bruce Williams? Only guy on radio that sounds like he died 10 years ago...
