Dave Ramsey, Lexington Radio

Dave's changing stations..... Trading the late night, delayed broadcast, on the Cumulus station for a live simulcast on WJMM FM and WLRT AM.
Start date is 9/24.

My dad was my Dave Ramsey...not saying I never got into debt, but what he taught me (which very much echoes what Ramsey preaches) made it a relatively short term thing. Lexington will be a better place with Dave on during the day.

Most of what Dave says is just good old fashioned common sense which these days is rather uncommon. I see it everyday when I am in a store. "Put $40 on this credit card, I think this one has $30 left on it, this one has $50 left on it". Freaking nuts. These people have a dozen credit cards and they're all maxed out or darn near it. I've never had a credit card in my life. Like Bob said, I learned from my parents who learned from their parents. I've had debt (car notes) but currently I don't owe anybody and I like it that way.

What gets me is when i am at a coffee shop and someone charges a 3 dollar purchase. Many shops have reset the minimum to 5 bucks.
Now, i know that some folks are going for the travel points or whatever. But, gee whiz.

It's nice piece of mind. The only debt I have is my house. That's it. I do have a credit card for business, however it has a $400 limit. They sent me a letter last summer wanting to up it to $5000 and I refused.

I have a Capital One card with double miles that I pay something like $59/yr for and I run EVERYTHING I can through it. It brings back several times that fee in credits that I apply against the balance. Of course, I only buy stuff that I am 110% sure I can pay in full...haven't had any interest charges for more years than I can recall. Wait til you get rid of that mortgage Bengal...you haven't lived until that albatross is disconnected from your neck!

You, Bob, are what the credit card companies call a "dead beat". Why? Because they earn no interest off of you.

Dave can also be heard on 1340 WEKY and 1550 WIRV from 1-5... both stations get into Lexington decent

That 1550 map doesn't look too strong, Lexington wise. The class 4 out of Richmond isn't bad....
