Dave Ramsey Moving to ???? in Nashville?

According to www.wlac.com, the Dave Ramsey show will make it's debut on 1510 AM on January 2, 2014 and will air daily from 5PM-8PM CT. Later on in the release, they refered to it as a live radio show. Since this will be the flagship station for the Dave Ramsey Show, does this mean he will now be doing his show live at 5PM or will he still do it live at from 1PM-4PM and WLAC will be airing it on tape delay?

Going from the official press release on Dave Ramsey's site, my hunch is that the reference to it being a "live radio talk show" really doesn't mean that it will be carried live on WLAC.

For those of us without knowledge on this stuff, are there any viable options for 102.5 to improve their signal to a city-wide deal? Is there anything likely to happen to improve it or is this just the way it's going to be?

Going all the way back to the initial question which wasn't really answered:),

Not on the 102.5 frequency. There's another 102.5 station in Crossville & The Game's transmitter is as far east as it can go without interfering with that. I suspect mutual interference with 102.9 would also be a problem.

I suppose a booster -- a second, lower-powered transmitter on 102.5 located somewhere in Metro -- might be a possibility. Except that mutual interference between the two transmitters could be a problem around Bellevue/Kingston Springs.

They own two low-power signals in West Nashville that could be used to boost 102.5. I'm referring to the 94.9 and 102.1 transmitters. 102.1 was originally built to boost the 102.5 signal. Apparently they now feel both low-power signals are better used creating new stations than boosting 102.5.

I have long said that Cromwell needs to just go ahead and have the SAME programming on both 102.5 and 102.9, similar to what the FISH does at 94FM. The Buzz seems to be the more popular of the two formats, more so than the Game. However, Cromwell has apparently never had any interest in doing that. There would definitely be a lot of duplicate coverage areas, but isn't there with the FISH as well? I don't have any problem receiving the Buzz out here, but I am just not interested in the type of music that they play. But it would solve the problem with coverage issues that they have consistently had with 102.5. (The other option is to just make 102.5 a specifically Clarksville station, but I don't see that happening, either.)

Well, again they did have 102.1 as the way of addressing 102.5's signal issues, and they decided it would be better used to create another station. AM 830 also involved a fair amount of expenditure to create a new station.

I'm thinking Cromwell's thinking is that their signals are adequate as it is, that they feel having more signals is more important than strengthening the signals they already have. If they're having to compete with Cumulus' six signals & Clear Channel's five, then maybe they have a point? Is there really anything wrong with 102.5 or 102.9 on a car radio?

Well he can now listen to his show on his way home at the end of the day.

Unless Ramsey is a Premiere show - and I don't believe he is - if he's on WLAC, he's paying them to be there.
