Dave Ramsey Out At Fox Business Network

Looks like another move is in store at Fox Business Network - and it's a biggie: Eric Bolling, who last co-hosted the early evening "Happy Hour" series that was cancelled earlier this month in favor of a new show hosted by former CNN personality Gerri Willis, will begin hosting a new nightly series called "Money Rocks," which premieres Monday, June 21. It will air weeknights at 8 PM - replacing the show hosted by syndicated radio host Dave Ramsey.

The article adds that Ramsey "may continue to make occasional appearances on FBN through the duration of his contract, which expires this year." Whatever. It looks like FBN is off my "favorites list" on my cable system.

IMHO, however, the move was a long time coming, given the political commentary from other FBN hosts, and I expect Bolling will be no different on his new show (I bet Willis will be charting that territory in due time, as well). Ramsey should resurface on another network (Bloomberg TV, maybe?) with his informative TV show.

Wonder if they will move Ramsey to Fox News Channel? If Shepherd Smith can host two shows, surely Ramsey is good enough to be on that network.

I could see Dave doing a weekend show on FBN, instead of repeats and infomercials to fill time. It looks like FBN is starting to beef up the weekend lineup as The Judge is getting a new show on Saturdays.

Yes, Judge Andrew Napolitano's new show, "Freedom Watch," is reported as being geared toward the "Tea Party" crowd. What that has to do with "business" is beyond me.

I do hope, at the very least, FBN retains the Sunday night "Ramsey Family Finance Night" for the duration of his contract.

Rupert Murdoch and Fox have a good track record for success, so I'd say FBN has a good chance to grow. But I'm not sure a second channel of tea-party oriented right-wing commentary is a good idea if you're trying to attract business savvy viewers.

Despite NBC's odd reputation for being "liberal" (because of MSNBC, I guess), their business network (CNBC) is filled with conservative commentators. They aren't "tea party" types, but they're politically conservative none the less. Even Jim Kramer, who claims to be non-political, and says occasionally he's a Democrat - reserves most of his political criticism for the Obama Administration.

It's too bad because Dave Ramsey gives good, solid advice -- not matter what your political persuasion. I guess Dave wasn't tilted right enough for them?!?

My sentiments exactly, AA. I guess they realized Dave didn't slam Obama enough on his program, so he's gone.
