Dave Ramsey was opening hour 2 of his radio show yesterday and was talking about Atlanta and said "of course we're on one of the top radio stations in Atlanta everyday on WGST."

This is how I know not to take anything Dave Ramsey says too seriously.

Since when has there ever been a shred of truth in advertising or promotion? What did you expect Ramsey to say? "and, of course, we're on one Atlanta station that really blows?"

Well in fairness to Dave, he said "one of the top", not "one of the top rated". So one could argue that WGST is indeed one of the top stations .... at being near the bottom.

WGST is near the top of the dial. Of course, that depends on which end of the dial you perceive as the top.

Well technically they're near the far left of the dial, which from a marketing standpoint wouldn't work for their target audience.

His show is also on WDUN/Gainesville and talk powerhouse WYXC/Cartersville-Atlanta!

I did like his show until he said that remark about the Capital One credit card ads (the ones with the vikings) saying that [Bleep] him off. Since then, I've listening to his show on a limited basis.

What did he say about Capital One? He slams all credit card companies. Capital One in particular he makes fun of their slogan by saying "What's in your Wallet???? how about CASH!

Atlanta is a "top 10" market. I believe Ramsey airs in tape-delay in Houston, and it wouldn't surprise me if he says the same thing about Houston.

Why not? He'd get more listeners wondering what he would say next - a backdoor way to boost GST's ratings ;D

So people are going to listen to a station that blows simply because Ramsey tells them to? They get what they deserve, then.

I listen to WGST for Dave Ramsey. They're doing something right by having him on the air.
