Dave Ramsey's Town Hall For Hope

Dave said this morning on Good Morning America that the event will be broadcast in over 6,000 locations plus on Fox Business Network. Pretty cool to see a big national event like that from a radio host.

Even more so considering a portion will be an informercial for his Financial Peace University.

Dave Ramsey is heroic. 8)

I watched it and Dave actually never mentioned his course. I thought it was a pretty good show. Fox Biz screwed up and he had two mics fail on him so that looked a little amateur but overall a pretty cool event.

His whole radio show is nothing more than an infomercial. I don't take financial advice from someone that went bankrupt. Like talk radio, I have a policy that I don't listen to junkies (i.e Rush and Glenn) or anyone that was arrested for legitimate reasons, like one of the host of FTL.

So much for second chances...

He went bankrupt, paid everything of and made it back again. I'd listen to advice from him. I like Clark Howard's approach a little better, but it's not as though Dave ramsey is still bankrupt or went bankrupt last year.

You're right and I was wrong on the FPU plug. At least I'll admit it.

In addition to the two wireless mic failures, our streaming froze when he went into his closing three steps. That was after he was talking about responsibility and accountability and that he, Fox and the church worked together to pull off the event and if something went wrong they were at fault. I wonder who got their rear end tore for the mics dying and the stream clogging up?

Now another one of the FTL hosts has been arrested. Now a total of four of the regular hosts of the show (Mark, Julia, Ian, and Sam) have spent time in jail. Welcome to America! ::)

Dave Ramsey. Let me tell you new kids on the block about this "great Christian". I started listening to him about 10 years ago. He sounded pretty decent on most issues. But then my local station dropped him. Fast forward to now...Ramsey talks different, comes across different like he's grown far too big for his britches. The little head has obviously grown too. Here's a guy who proports to be living by Christian principles...no problem in that. Would the preacher in your church use a euphamism for the "f" word? Would your preacher use a substitute for "GD"? Oh, but the great Ramsey does. Even a child knows what "fricking" means and here's this guy throwing out these bombs even as many churches are rushing to him and his "courses" (which aren't free).

Yes, he is 100% right when he says we should not live beyond our means and stupidity is running up thousands upon thousands of dollars in debt then trying to borrow more to pay off borrowed money. However, to pay off your low interest mortage one second early is just as stupid. If you have the money to pay extra on a mortgage, then that money can and should be put to work making you money thru investments. You will be much more ahead that way than giving extra money to the bank ahead of time. Yes, even in this economy and market. This IS a great buying opportunity in equities.

I've never listened to Ramsey, but paying off my mortgage early was one of the best decisions I've made. By paying it off early, I saved over $200,000 in interest payments and my biggest monthly expense is now non-existent. That's a far better investment in my future than any stocks, equities, or whatever.

Free Talk Live must be treating you well! Well done.

I'm frugal and good at saving, but yeah, the show is profitable. Thanks!

DXDXDX, I'm not a Christian, but I'd like to see where in your favorite old book it says you can't arrange letters in certain combinations. Where did you get the idea that if there is an all-powerful god that she didn't create language and every word in it? Oh that's right, you believe in the trickster god that claims to be all-loving but then when someone strings a few syllables together in the "wrong" order, they are punished!

::)

Frack!
