Dave Reinhart

Dave Reinhart died on Sunday. Most who worked with him suspected he had some sort of mystery illness for the last several years he ran the Gandy Blvd Operation, but he always denied anything was wrong. Although he has been gone from Gandy for a couple of years, whatever it was seems to have ended his life. Despite what many on this board have posted about Jacor/Clear Channel over the years, he was a well respected Broadcaster who's presence made a big difference on what is heard today on Tampa Bay Radio.

Those of us who actually worked for Dave don't need cheap shots from Randy Kabrich to put Dave Reinhart's loss in perspective. Dave treated people as assets, not liabilities and treated radio with the right mix of seriousness and fun. There were too few people like that in radio management then and even fewer now. He is sorely missed.

Mike, I'm not sure what Randy said could be considered a "cheap shot".

I met Dave Reinhart only a couple times, but was well aware of his presence. I felt humbled and fortunate each time.

Oh, yeah, and totally inadequate to ask him for a job...

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

Cheap Shots?

Even Tom Taylor noted what I stated in the Newsletter this morning under the Headline on how the Tributes were coming in - then sent me a personal email how nice it was for me to post about him.

Jacor and Clear Channel were different entities. Dave represented what was best in Jacor.

Depends - has Bubba talked about it on his radio show yet?

Not to stir up anything, but does anyone know if both MJ and Bubba were at Dave's service? That could have been interesting.

Reinhart catered to MJ while Dan catered to Bubba - so while all four were employed @ Clear Channel, MJ wasnt a Dan fan and same for Bubba and Dave.
