Just got word that Dave Rogers received word that he has bladder cancer. The doctors have scheduled him for surgery for Wednesday at Lexington Medical Center. Please keep him in your prayers.
I am really sorry to hear this. I had not seen or heard anything out of Dave in years. I can remember watching him on WIS-TV for many years as well as him being on WCEZ and a couple of other stations around town too, agreat professional.
To one of the only voices who could actually make the windows at the Pickens Street Palace rattle violently when it came thru the monitors...BE STRONG AND GET WELL SOON, DAVE!
I remember Dave Rogers from WVOC and Star 93.5 where I was an intern during Clayton Radio's old days. He gave me rides from the station. A really nice guy.
I tend to agree with Robyn. I am in the Upstate, but spent time in Myrtle Beach with family for years and saw/heard Dave on WIS. Cable was bad when I was a kid, but in Myrtle Beach you got WIS. I won't comment on the other local TV during that era.
