I always thought that being in radio would be a blast but you guys all seem to miserable! Be nice to each other!

I wouldn't say anyone here is "miserable," but radio has changed drastically in the last ten years. When I started in the '70s, it was mostly mom-and-pop operations...and we did have a blast. Back then, the only thing we whined about was pulling 6-hour airshifts on a holiday...or no coffee before you start morning drive. As the corporate world moved in back in the late '90s, it became a business...most veteran jocks long for the mom-and-pop days.

It's so true. Going back to when I was younger every Station had personalities and always sounded like there was a party going on at the sation..kinda the reason I got involved with it. However over the years it has changed alot and now I like it for sifferent reasons..but long for the time when it was a party everynight

Not from 1994-2000, and again 2002-2003. I royally kicked her HUGE ass persons 12+, 18-34, and 25-54 during those years at WLAN, then later at WIOV. But hey, who's ass didn't I kick in Arbitron?

Why are you still impersonating Cadillac Jack, the former PD of WLAN-FM?

[....has only been back since last fall.]
That means she's had 8 months to do something on mornings and we're still waiting. Mel and John NEVER had that kind of time, yet post Dave Crockett on with Mel and John (What a disaster that was! He proved once and for all he's nothing more than the old fashioned laughing sidekick. But he's turning out to be a wonderfully subserviant sidekick to his co-host on another radio station.)
So, who are you to rag on Dave Crockett, a guy with many years of on-air morning show experience?

What we need is a JOCK-OFF, an event where all these raggers can step to the mic and show THEIR
announcing skills, assuming they actually have announcing skills.

NightCourtFan- yes, we're definitely talking about the same John London. Maybe it's an acquired taste I don't know...but yes, I definitely think he's a good looking guy. I also remember him being in great shape (especially for someone in his 40's). Let's just say I wouldn't call it a 'face for radio.' ;)

I don't like when people pick on my man "scoot". He is one of the nicest, funniest, all around good guys that I have ever worked with. What about Scooter Macgruder in dc. I think it is a cool handle. Don't you remember a kid on the playground back in school days named scott and people would call him "scoot" or "scooter" Hey "scoot' as the budweiser commercial used to say"i love you man" you were fun to work with and i enjoyed your humor and stories.

Where do you see yourself on-air with all of your talent?...

In case you haven't noticed, Scooter has friends both in the industry and on the other end of the airwaves (who miss his charming personality on their radios). You'd be wise to select less popular targets! Even better, give up the target practice altogether and just go with the flow of the discussion......

No disrespect was intended for your friend. (Sorry Mr. Scooter), :-*I was just curious WHY with all that experience he is not currently on the air anywhere. Central Pa. obviously could use a boost from previous posts I have seen.

you are finally right dr. rock. scoot has been a household name for two decades in central pa...i am suprised no one has scooped the scoot up by now...but then again...some of the evil empires still like to pay minimum wage back when i started in 1978 and that was $3.35 an hour. hey scoot hats off to you and I see you back soon! You will then be a rightfully employed radio "pro" not schlub!!!!

I this post started out about how poor WARM 103's Morning crew is now it's become a haven for people who like or don't like Scooter...PLEASE can we stick at the inteded subject....Some courtesy that's all.....If it's deems necessary I guess we can start a new post singing his praises!
