DAVE STANTON DIES

Long time Oklahoma City announcer and the Voice of OETA Dave Stanton died this morning. Dave was one of the earliest Top 40 DJ's in Oklahoma City on KOCY in 1957. He was a fine person.

I've worked with Dave at 2 seperate stations. He was a class act, always willing to help out a new broadcaster. Dave was a classical guitarist, hence his love for classical music. I just wish I could have heard him play.

You will be sorely missed,

HOOP

I too worked with Dave Stanton at a few stations. Down to earth and wanted to see everyone succeed. He was a great guy. We kept in touch by phone. Now I wish I had visited him!

My Dave Stanton memory -- him hot rodding around in that Corvair!
