CBS RADIO News KNX-A/LOS ANGELES morning anchor DAVE WILLIAMS has exited the station. WILLIAMS has been with KNX since 2004 and worked before that at sister News KFWB-A, crosstown Talk KABC-A,and for many successful years at Talk KFBK-A/SACRAMENTO.

Also from All Access today. Maybe he can come back to BK. They could use him.

How does Dave and Kitty sound ? Nice ring to it.

Don't think so. I rarely listen anymore. Too much happy talk and not enough news, especially in the afternoon. And the demise of traffic and news coverage from overhead at KFBK took away a good deal of "urgency" in it coverage, and is one less reason to tune in.

If they bring Dave back, they'd also need Roger Hamlyn back in the editor's pit... but it's a long commute from Petaluma. If he's not at KPIX/KCBS/etc. at this point.

Hey, Dave...

:-[ Aw, shucks... no slight intended ::)

I remember KFBK several generations of reporters and anchors ago, when it was "must hear" radio.

When stuff was breaking, you could depend on Bill and Joe to be above the scene and tell you what was going on. And before that, Kerry Shearer in the 76 Plymouth wagon when the studios were at 21st and Q.

Maybe I've changed... and don't care for so much negative news, celebrity fluff or BS on the air... and/or have other things to do.

These days, my car radio's usually on Classical KXPR or it's satellite off the Sutter Buttes, KXJS, Sutter. And over to one of three other NPR stations available in Yu-Bacity that carry Morning Edition and ATC.

Maybe it's worthwhile to poke your head in the door at LA, SF and Sac NPR member stations??

Just talked to Roger, yesterday. He's still at KPIX working the overnight shift and loving it. Will see him in the next couple of weeks and will tell him you said hello.

Ted--KFBK class of 1980-81, KOBO class of 75... etc.
