Dave's Last Song?

Surprised nobody's started this thread yet... What do you think 92.9's final song as "Dave FM" will be this fall before their switch to "Sports Radio 92.9"? My guess is it'll probably be a song from The Police. ::)

"Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" by Green Day. It's become a cliche for blowing up an alt station.

How about bringing back Ross Brittain and Brian Wilson (they could voicetrack it) to play "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen and state, unequivocally and for the record, that they did NOT dedicate it to Atlanta's "missing and murdered children" and get fired from Z-93 as a result. Bring in Steve McCoy (their successor in AM drive) and Dan Mason from CBS corporate as a witness.

I fully expect it to be Green Day. (That's what 99X used when it signed off of 99.7.)

But, I'd personally go with something self-referential, such as a live take of DMB's "All Along the Watchtower" (a long-time DMB set-closer).

Or R.E.M.'s "Orange Crush" (the first song they played as Dave FM).

Or Huey Lewis and the News' "If This Is It" (from the album... ha.).

They could go out of musical character and play "Too much,Too little,Too late" by Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams  ::)

How about "We Built This City" by Starship, complete with the Pop-Top "We built Atlanta on rock and roll, Atlanta's hit radio Z-93"

"What's the frequency Kenneth?"
"Fade to Black"
or "Last Dance" if Mara Davis wants to throw down one last piece of cheese.
Sad that this station is leaving. Chuck 103.7 plays some good music (so far) but they don't reach past Gwinnett going south.
Also hate that some great DJ's are losing their jobs. They are the last stand for "mature" entertaining commentary. Just really a bummer-best of luck to them all.

Not as witty as bnaivar with Dave's Not Here, but what about Hank Williams Jr's Are You Ready For Some Football...

First laugh-out-loud post I've seen on here since Neil Millman left us.
