David Allan Boucher

I was shocked to hear David Allan Boucher on a recent trip to Sacramento, on KYMX/MIX 96. His show was a carbon copy of his program on Magic. Obviously, he tracks the show. Does anyone know if David has a program in any other markets?

Many years ago, he used to do his Bedtime Magic show on Magic 98.3 in New Brunswick at the same time he did his Boston show. During a tropo opening, I discovered that the music on 98.3 and 106.7 was a simulcast. That show didn't work out too well ratings-wise in NJ so it got dropped.

What more likely is New Brunswick didn't want to pay the talent fee for the show. Gr. Media has been known to be cheap...and with the downturn in revenue, they are cutting everything everywhere. Just look at WBOS and WROR.....are there any live bodies working there besides Loren & Wally

Magic 98.3 had a warm body live in the studio in the evenings after they stopped syndicating David Allen Boucher. Keep in mind that Boucher was dropped at least 5 years ago. I'm sure that having someone live from New Brunswick is more expensive than taking someone's voice from Boston.

Well, they do have JC Haze doing afternoon drive (plus Saturdays) and Stella Mars doing 7pm to midnight. I haven't listened much to either one of them so I'm only assuming both are live. They've brought Paul Perry back for weekends and have a full weekend staff.

Heard Kim Collins on ZLX on my way to do a fill in shift at MRBI Saturday morning.. Greater Media had no problem dumping her.... too bad she's good people, I'm still waiting for Julie Devereaux to show up somewhere, she too is a really nice person and deserved better from Greater Media.

Being "good people" or a "really nice person" doesn't guarantee you a job. Business is business.

From what I hear, Stella dn JC Haze are simply voicetracked shifts too.

7-Midnight on WROR is definitely VTed. I'm not sure if this is still happening, but when they first started voice tracking, the text display on a HD Radio would say something about a voicetrack number while Stella was talking.
