David Bowie Passes at 69

I liked his duet with Bing Crosby at Christmas.

My favorite David Bowie memory was of walking out of a KFC on a really cold day and hearing from the speakers, "I don't want to go out. I just want to stay in."

That KFC is no longer there and I don't remember how long it has been gone but I did eat there on September 11.

I have a favorite line from his song "Starman", from his album The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars:

"That weren't no DJ, that was hazy, cosmic jive".

Let me try again. It doesn't mean I am a fan, but this is sad news.

Oh, I liked him as an actor in at least one movie.

What a legend, had some great songs like "Under Pressure", "Let's Dance" and "Fame", and also the "Little Drummer Boy" duet with Bing Crosby. RIP my friend. Condolences to his family, friends, and millions of fans. Biggest loss so far this year. :(

Fred Armisen made a special unscheduled appearance on SNL and described how he felt about watching Bowie years ago. He must be older than I thought if he remembers 1979. He introduced a brief clip and invited people to go to NBC's web site for more performances.
