The wife and I have been listening non-stop. The concept of all this is good. But man, someone help this guy in the morning..who's in charge guiding him? This can work, but sorry he is sruggling BAD. The people on with him, NONE seem like they have EVER been in radio..not good. The girl that is on sometimes with him is just terrible, the wrong 'tude for the show and fit for him...doesn't get it. And why do they have his manager on? Someone please explain this theory that I feel does not appeal to us.

I like Penn. The radio chick failed 2 other times here, WHY would they bring her back? She comes off like she KNOWS everything...not inviting. Just be a woman, not a woman trying to beat a guy in this business. She sounds like she's just an unhappy person. I thought this was about entertainment, not ego's?

There was a time many many many moons ago when that was TRUE! Then the "every man/woman for himself/herself" attitude set in. Agreed on the DLR comments...show has potential, just too many voices trying to "support the lead." Same exact thing can be said for "The Booker Show" with one exception, he DOES sound like an experienced broadcaster.

Compared to some of the programs on 'YSP in Philly such as Kidd Chris, I think 92.3 is in a MUCH better position...IMO.
 
Roth, Chick, Free FM

The problem I have w/ the RadioChick is she simply sounds like she is trying too hard. I don't find her connecting with me or other listeners well and I really am not interested in her talking about her (BLEEP)....sorry I just don't find her that attractive, am I the only one?

I am in complete agreement with you on Roth. Although he is sounding slightly better this week, and I do think with guidance and the right producer(s)...the show can do pretty good in ratings...as of right now it doesn't make sense. The chick in the background is annoying and laughs at anything he says (not even as bad as Robin did) ..and Roth goes from one serious topic to one funny topic too quickly where it just looses my attention.

I like JV and Elvis..good chemistry..they seem genuine

Penn Jillette should have more than 1 hr! This guy seems like he was made for radio

The Booker show was a smart move for its time slot...I actually think this show has the most to gain on Free FM.

Overall, I think Free FM can be worse...but it could be better (Wishing for Adam Carolla)

No you're NOT the only one, she's a blonde that well sounds like the rest of them. TRYING TOO HARD. We're in NYC, give us a chick that looks & sounds like she's from here that we'd want to hang out with and TALKS to US not at us. I agree with you 100% on the girl with Roth too, laughs WAY too much and has NOTHING intelligent or fun and I wouldn't want to hang with her either. There HAS to be plenty of solid radio female talents that can deliver that without an ego-star additude. Yes Roth does switch subject to subject TOO quick. Are we looking too deep into this? Not really. I mean I hate to see ANYONE fail. FIX what is around Roth, get a good producer(s) like you said. A solid girl that can stand up to him in a good way that KNOWS what's happening around the world, music, entertainment, some sports etc. THAT can bring it to the table to him.

Yes on BOOKER, he fits right in what Free is TRYING to do, nice move..he'll only get better. Penn should get 2 hours, I'm for that bro! Radio Chick needs to go, PLEASE the 80's name alone...how 'bout a real name.....Smith, Gambino? ANYTHING...but it still won't help her. Put her on weekends. And if that's ALL she can talk about HER **BLEEP**, well than that tells us right there she's searching...LEAVE IT TO THE IMAGINATION. WE don't care. I have not listened enough to JV and Elvis, I will now. With the spotless track record Chernoff has, it's VERY hard for me to believe he's diggin this.

Familiarity in the market... Think about it - Free-FM in Philly brought back Barsky, and he's been on a few different stations himself.

Speaking of Philly - A poster further down in the thread mentions Kidd Chris on WYSP. Supposing the Chick gets strike three, Kidd's is the type of show is one that I would see on 92.3.<P ID="signature">______________

I think all of them on 92.3 Free FM are trying to hard and at times they are strugglin. Also if the bit is not working then give it up after the brake.

I also don't like the fact that these shows sound negative in tone. This is especially true when someone famous dies or gets divorced. They just play on emotions and bad times. Everything is a joke to them.

You are right about Roth. The one thing that has not changed since day one is that he is all over the place with his topics and the other people especially that girl are not helping matters.

Overall I think the people on Free FM are getting off on hearing themselves in the headphones.

Well the one knock I immediatly had about DLR is that I hate "fake laughs". What makes DLR even worse is that his crew's fake laughing isn't even good enough to be classified as fake. I've seen better acting at pre-school plays. Just makes me stare at the radio like the RCA dog wondering what the hell they are trying to accomplish.

Between your jobs and tattling to the FCC on "pirates" where in the heck do you find the time to be sooooo "worldly" when it comes to radio? Roth is clearly NOT a "professional broadcaster" and I think it's safe to say that when they (then Infinity) hired him, they knew his resume. Cut the guy some slack or change the dial to WSUS...that is IF you can hear it ;-)
