David Lee Roth On KIXI!

This morning I heard the damnedest thing on KIXI....

"Just A Gigalo" David Lee Roth

Granted, this was only natural, the song is 23 years old and he was doing his best Louis Prima, so it fits MOYL perfectly.

It got me thinking...since David Lee Roth had a few radio gigs, why doesn't MOYL (or better yet - KIXI themselves!) pick him up.

He's EXACTLY what KIXI needs! You can just imagine Diamond Dave walking through the doors of Sandusky Seattle with a gaggle of string bikinied young women around him. Sure would liven up the atmosphere there.

THAT will send KIXI back into relevance...

Back in the spring of 85 when I first heard his version of the song, I wondered how long it would be before the standards stations would pick that song up.

Dave doing mid-days on KIXI....I would consider going back out to the west coast just to hear that! ¿Or would he be better in evenings?

David Lee Roth relevant to radio:

Agree or disagree?

;D

Agree:

- Former Free FM Talker

- Perennial radio guest

- Every time you hear "Jump" Van Halen on the radio for the umpteenth TRILLION time......

You really need to pay more attention, gang. Last weekend on Broadway's Biggest Hits (6 p.m. Sunday on KIXI), I played "Killer Queen." Granted, it wasn't the Queen version, rather the track from the London cast recording of the Queen musical "We Will Rock You," but Queen does trump Diamond Dave anytime, especially on KIXI!

OK, ya got me. But at the rate classic rock is going Broadway (I'm hearing a rumor that Kiss is working on something), it won't be long before Metallica: The Musical comes out.....
