Cut from someone else's post on the Serious Satellite Raydeeoh board for your delictation:

"The "Free FM" Experiment is an total disaster, DLR has ditched his show for a week (they say vacation, I say major retooling) and is being replaced by local jocks in their respective markets(smells like local stations want more control).."

I think it is going to be very difficult to find a host that will beat Howard Stern's past ratings.

How bout Dee Snyder

I agree with both of ya. If 937krocks ratings are not any good this time around. Then change it to top 40 station call it 937hitsfm and the phrase We play all the hits.<P ID="signature">______________

You may have said that in jest but

Actually, I thought Dee Snyder might be a good fit in Howard's place.

You're never going to have another Howard Stern, but Snyder's a little sharper than DLR and- my God- he started the old Headbangers Ball on MTV!!!

You could actually make an arguement that Headbangers helped create a media enviroment that allowed Howard Stern to succeed after his dismissal from WNBC. Certainly many musicians plugged his show on the program- I remember Stevie Vai especially.

He has a following. I listen to House of Hair.

Which is another reason why I think that K-Rock actually should stick with their format.

It's very fresh and, as I've said, has a great, more modern blend of rock songs without leaving behind an AC/DC or a Motley Crue the way The X does.

Hits Fm actually isn't a bad idea ;), and I've actually wondered about the next station that flips to a CHR in Pittsburgh using that.

The only thing I think that could be wrong with it, is Hits FM sounds really close to KISS FM and Clear Channel might complain.

Oh ok then i'll call it 937 the hits and have the same phrase.
We play all the hits only on 937 the hits.

Re: You may have said that in jest but

No, actually I just really think of Dee Snyder exemplifying radio personality more than I do DLR. Neither completely smacks of great morning jock to me, but DLR... my god. At least Dee might sound awake. And have half a chance of waking somebody else up.

Hell, I could even see Tommy Lee doing a better job. Seriously.
I mean, he went to college.

Haha, nahhh make it 937 HitsFM, maybe it doesn't sound close enough, haha.

Re: You may have said that in jest but

All I have to say is that I am obviously a fan of that genre of music, but I think Dee Snyder may be a better radio performer than music performer.

And I know all the words to the teacher's rant before "I Wanna Rock!"

Actully kissfm just goes by 961kiss? So they can make it 937hitsfm.

Let's call it 93.7HitsFM then, what calls would you go with, I've always envisioned a CHR going with WAHZ as calls, and as far as i know they're not currently in use, my reasoning with those calls is We play All the HitZ
