David Lee Roth?

I just heard that DLR beat my other former employer's morning show persons 18-34 this trend.

It's only a trend, but is he taking any hold in Boston? Or has the signal issue reared its ugly head again.

Word has it he's cuming a whopping 32k in NY which I'm betting is worse than some of the LI signals.

This has to be either a fluke, or horrible news for every other morning show in the city.

Meanwhile CBS yanked him from the air this morning.

Is there a chance he becomes a local replacement for himself at WBCN?

Or, have they ganked the guy on the first day of the Spring book?

Wow!

"Word is" that he may have been suspended, maybe for a day, maybe more.

What did WBCN run this morning? Did they carry WFNY/NY's "Elvis and JV", like other DLR stations did?

According to the Boston Globe, Roth's Ratings keep falling. I believe the numbers they quote are adults 25-54. They got Roth down to 16th place in the morning, Hillman in 5th, and Matty in the Morning in 1st. Here's a link to the article.

No - they played music and had a local jock on. I actually listened to BCN for the first time in a long time this morning. I have nothing against DLR - I just like some music on my way to work. . .

That link is to a story in the Herald, not the Globe. Was there also a similar article in the Globe?

Given that David Lee Roth was yanked on the eve of the start of the all-important Spring Arbitrons, I suspect he's out and won't be back.

Given his ratings troubles, CBS Radio couldn't afford to have his low ratings drag down the overall ratings of his affiliates in the year's most important ratings period.

No, sorry. my bad. I don't usually read the herald, so I had the globe on my mind for some reason. The article was only in the herald as far as i know. sorry for any confusion.

from Radio & Records....

CBS Radio spokesperson Karen Mateo tells R&R, "Contrary to erroneous reports, David Lee Roth has not been let go. He is on his way back from Miami and is scheduled to return to the air on Friday."

I'm quite skeptical.

I'll believe it when I hear him back on the air.

Re: from Radio & Records....

David Lee has a contract, no doubt, so let 'em pay him off
in a month or so and start fresh.

At least this time they're not worried about him becoming
the competition. Of course, if Van Halen get a new hit with
him a la Hall & Oates, it might drive the listenership up by
about .01

Survey says:

David Lee ain't gonna make it.

We knew you'd have some kind of speculation about this

I would dare say that I was not alone in speculating that David Lee Roth would not have returned to his syndicated morning show.

In it's statement announcing that the show would be back (with a modified format), CBS Radio said that Roth would be back "despite what had been reported to the contrary".
