David Locke @ KTTH?

Did I miss something or slept through the day and missed this news: David Locke is now on KTTH? Having just checked KJR's website, he's gone from that, so it must be true. Now WHY would KTTH hire Locke? They MUST be flipping to all sports with Sonics and Seahawks and move their money making talk shows over to KIRO.

Locke is the new radio PBP voice for the Sonics now that Calabro is to be TV-only. That doesn't automatically mean a format flip is in order - nor will the 'Hawks - as hot as they are - be moving to the poorer-coverage 770 frequency.

He's also doing fill in work for New York Vinnie on KIRO now and then. Sounded great a week or so ago.

On the subject of a KTTH flip, I don't know how much sense it makes to go directly against KJR (even with the Sonics), but it might be a good idea for Entercom to resurrect The Buzz and have a Hot Talk / Sports hybrid. KJR already has a lot of "guy talk" in the midst of sports talk, but adding Leykis and others to KTTH could set the standard for a new format and create true "radio for guys".

pretty funny that ktth has the sonics, you can't hear thier signal outside kent at night... last i knew they played most thier games at night.
oh, but now they're sold, so never mind....

This really is the laugh to be had with the Sonics leaving on the next train. They hose Entercom into committing the station to the major work of promoting the new station for PXP and then sell the team.

KJR is looking pretty smart right now...selling ads to a lame duck team would be NO fun regardless of their win/loss record. With the Sonics playing as poorly as they are the poor guys at KTTH must wonder what the h***. hit 'em.

Hey! Wake up and smell the coffee...Howards cooking a new deal!
