David Lowery

I hate to post this...but when I arrived at work yesterday (Tue), the entire CC
staff was informed that David Lowery had passed away Tuesday morning, presumably
of a heart attack. Arrangements are still being worked out. Dave turned 56 last Friday,
and had been at CC about a year in production/continuity. Prior, Dave was at WKDF/WGFX...
and earlier at 92Q/WMAK in the late '70s (we worked together than, too).

One of the good guys...

This puts a new perspective on things, huh?
Damn.

That's very sad news. David was a nice guy and talented production man who was always very helpful when we exchanged audio at times between clusters. Rest his soul.

David was one of the nicest people I ever worked with in this business. I never heard him utter one bad remark about anybody. (And ,as I'm sure you know, that's hard to do in this business.) I consider myself lucky to have worked with him. He will definitely be missed.

This is Jackson, David's oldest son. I found this thread by Googling my Dad and decided to post. The funeral was today and was a sad, yet celebratory affair. Lots of dad's old school KDF people were there as well as his Clear Channel co-workers. Overall I would say there were close to 150 people there. He was a good company man who loved radio, but didn't care much for the changes over the last few years (obviously) in the industry and in Nashville. After he got let go at KDF I never thought he would go back to radio, but he really liked Clear Channel. Thanks for the kind words.
