David Ogden Stiers

David Ogdgen Stiers from M*A*S*H* (Major Charles Emerson Winchester III) has came out of the closet.

“I am [gay],” Ogden Stiers said. “Very proud to be so.”

On why he just came out now:
Odgen Stiers said he was repeatedly cautioned to stay in the closet if he wanted to continue getting work as a voice actor for family films. ... I could claim noble reasons as coming out in order to move gay rights forward, but I must admit it is for far more selfish reasons. Now is the time I wish to find someone and I do not desire to force any potential partner to live a life of extreme discretion with me.

At least he is being honest about it. I for one, was kind of surprised. I wish him the best of luck in finding someone, and his career.

Somehow, I am not shocked. Though I never gave it any thought, to be honest.

And, radioman is right - it won't hurt him. If anything, it may actually elevate his status in Hollywood.
