David Paul coming back to Atlanta? Rumor has it that he is. Who, Where, When?
 
Right now David Paul is the big fish in a little pond hosting the morning show on WYXC. I am not sure why, unless it was for ego and money, that he would want to relocate back to Atlanta and who knows what kind of contract he has agreed to. I listen to David Paul regularly on the web and so far in the last month I think he has irritated the female listeners, the black listeners, the fundamentalist listeners, conservatives, hunters, home-schoolers, and I am sure I am leaving out quite a few more. I really enjoy it. There is nothing even close to it in Atlanta. The question is, how is the redneck in Cartersville handling it? David Paul may be a free agent real soon so the rumor may be true.
 
It is a proven fact that he does have talent, but I thought he blew his chance of an Atlanta comeback with the GST meltdown. I'm wondering who started the rumor...

I cannot agree with you more. However, how many female and black listeners are tuning into WYXC? David should save that material for the big show.

I particularly enjoy it when he goes 'exstitential' and asks wierd 'spiritual' questions...l

I'm beginning to think that whole meltdown was a hoax...If so, even more reason to get him in the mix somewhere.

Krok should tune him in, he could learn alot from David Paul!

Ralph, thanks for the comments, but this is not the old David Paul Show. This is a small market morning show and we don't have the freedom to do some of the things David used to do on WSB. This is a very conservative market and part of the game is to keep him reeled in. Plus the constraints of a tight clock make it hard to flesh out things like you can do in afternoon drive or evening. Sorry you don't think I'm funny, but I think Ralph is a goofy name so I guess we're even. (Plus you live in Alabama - I feel for you) Chuck

I’ve listened to the show. I kinda like Chuck’s choices in bumper tunes, but I have to agree with the guy from Alabama. I think the show would be better if David Paul was calling the shots.

Chuck and David compliment each other very well. They seem to be opposites in most of their views. As far as "keeping him reeled in" goes, good luck. David seems to have a hard time keeping his opinion from being heard. They work very well together.
 
Holy cow! This is great! I'll be listening to that staion over the internet even if I have to adjust my work schedule. DP is one the all time best hosts ever, interesting to listen to and doesn't need to be political or have a catchy topic.
 
I will say only one thing about David Paul, he is unique.
 
He starts 5/1/07 in the 9 - 12 slot. A lot of excitement here.
 
I started listening to the WYXC show this morning. It's natural to think that the 'other guy' is not up to the standard when you are there for your hero so I don't want to say anything about him. David seems to do well with another personality on air with him, since that's the case why not have fun matching him up? How about Mara Davis and David Paul? Ahh...talk radio heaven :)
 
David Paul is an egotistical chauvinist extremely opinionated dude. He believes the nonsense that he spews on his listeners. That's what makes him entertaining. He needs an opposite that commands respect and can dish it right back at him. My pick would be Leslie Fram. I think they would bring out the best and the worst of each other. That would be my dream team. And, I agree that he seems to work well with another personality to play off of.

... therefore he would make an ideal talk show host.
 
No truth to WGST rumor. David is having fun in Cartersville and they have a good monring show, especially for a small market station and basically own the town. David and the orther guy play well together.

If David Paul wanted back in Atlanta and was offered the chance he is not staying put because he rules Cartersville and his partner and him get along well.
 
The point was that neither WGST nor any other major station has offered David a gig. There are too many high quality people floating around the country who would love to take a shot at Atlanta.
 
I have heard a few of these "high quality people" that gst has brought to their station. Not one has brought any numbers at all. not one. So, I am convinced that will keep using this brilliant formula.
