One of the premier drivers of old school NASCAR and also one of the sport's genuine "nice guys" has died. His on track duels with Richard Petty are legend.
 
he did win 3 Cup Series championships in a time where there was no 10 race playoffs, and the races had no stages format (2 small stages and 1 one final stage) and the point system was simpler.

rest in peace Silver Fox.
