Davidson Sells WWLV To EMF

And by coincidence, the call letters already have "LV." Considering EMF is buying up stations all over, including a full power FM in Philadelphia, they must have some deep pockets. Did WWLV have local DJs who are now going to be replaced by K-Love's nationally syndicated line up?
I don't understand the appeal. Even if I were that religious, would I want to listen to a station that only plays music about ONE subject? It is funny to hear how closely the Christian Contemporary artists sound like Katy Perry, Maroon 5 and Nickelback, even though they have to stick to that one subject for their lyrics. And from a propaganda point of view, it is interesting to see how EMF and similar broadcasters realize that the way to get more souls to convert is to play music for a young generation, rather than heavy fire-and-brimstone preaching.

I don't think there was ever much of a chance of oldies returning. Radio doesn't want the 50+ crowd. No complaints here, oldies had a good long run.
