Mark's head exploded? ::)

The WBAP website shows The WBAP Morning News from 5-8:30 and Mark from 8:30 to 10:45.

The Hal & Mark combination probably didn't work well in the ratings. They'd really be better off if they would go back to their old schedule of having Mark go 9-noon, with an hour of news at Paul Harvey at noon, followed by Rush on tape.

I understand the desire to have everyone live, but they're slowly choking off the localism that made WBAP a great radio station.

Not to get too off subject, but man is that right. I heard a promo for Tuesday night's primary coverage anchored by Mark Davis and Mark Levin. What the heck? I know Levin is live when the polls close March 4, but what can a loud-mouthed bastion of hate from New York City Washington, D.C., offer to Texans interested in Texas races? I realize the national importance of the Democratic Primary/Caucus on Tuesday, but being in Texas, I'd rather hear a local take on it.

I agree almost completely, but I'd keep Limbaugh live. I'd go 5-8 a.m. with Hal Jay and company, do traffic every 10 minutes (instead of 6) and give Hal Jay a little more rope to play with. Davis from 8 to 11, Limbaugh 11-2 and Hannity 2-5. I'd have a local show from 5-8/Stars Face-Off. I've suggested Larry Dixon before for such an afternoon drive show. (I envision something similar to the WBAP Morning News with ample weather/traffic and news/sports mixed with humor). If there's really a market for Levin, tape-delay him after sane people have gotten home from work.

Paul Harvey? Find a spot for him in the afternoon local show (6:45-7, par exemple), if that's an option.

Good ideas except pual is an icon in that 11:30a-12:30 P area of time. However in a few years if not sooner that may not matter as he is aging. I agre about Mark and Mark doing the primary,especially the Democratic one. That's akin to Adolf being a tour guy during he London Blitz.

Yeah, Paul Harvey is a bit difficult to figure out where to put him. I don't enjoy him, but I'm way outside his target demographic. I guess Davis will just have to knock off 15 minutes early in my dream world of what WBAP should look like. :)

Am I the only one who heard Larry Dixon fill in for Hal back when he had health problems? I know I'm probably treading on sacred feet here...but I thought he was......not good.

And WBAP used to do live shows in the afternoon (including Hal at one time) and the ratings obviously didn't pan out for anyone in that slot locally.

I do agree with you though about keeping Rush/Sean live. It's good to hear those guys actually talking about breaking news as it's happening....rather than an hour later. That always made my head EXPLODE!

Again....just my 2 cents
