Davis/Lovallo replace Hannity on WDRC, etc.

A member of Free Republic from CT pointed out to me that Sean Hannity is being pulled off WDRC (and WMMW, WSNG, and WWCO) due to low ratings and the WDRC
site says the following:

>BREAKING NEWS ON THE TALK OF CONNECTICUT!
Dan Lovallo to move from mornings with Brad Davis to host an all new afternoon drive program!
Dan Lovallo has the inside scoop on what’s happening in Connecticut!

20 years as a radio news broadcaster and 33 doing sports commentary have combined to provide Dan with the right set of tools to know what the important topics are statewide, and nationally as they effect Connecticut. Dan has an endearing no-nonsense approach that engages listeners. Tuned in to Connecticut provides an outlet for listeners to discuss what’s on their mind. This is a fast paced, caller-focused program that deals with local issues.
Beginning March 13th, every weekday afternoon from 3 to 6, Dan gets the news out to listeners during their commute so there’s no more waiting for the evening television news.
Topical and on-point, Local newsmakers join Dan as news is breaking to discuss details. <P ID="signature">______________

There was an article in the Tuesday J-I about this. No mention was made of low ratings but the article did say this: "When WDRC station manager decided to replace Sean Hannity's syndicated talk show with a local show, Lovallo had his chance to fly solo. "Wayne wanted a local afternoon show for a while and he asked me if I was interested," Lovallo said. "Of course, I said yes.""

Oh, OK; I was quoting the Free Republic post: "I'm livid today... just learned that my local radio station - WDRC - is dropping Sean Hannity's show starting on Monday because of "low Arbitron ratings in the Hartford, CT area". WDRC is the only station I can hear Sean on... WABC (NYC) is too static-y. The only alternative is Howie Carr (Boston) or horrible local shows, one of which is extremely liberal."

***It's about time Dan Lovallo got a chance to host his own show. I actually enjoy listening to him just as much as Brad Davis. He strikes me as being more Conservative than Brad and it is a refreshing change from most of the neo con radio you hear these days.

Sean Hannity was good when he was on WABC and not nationally syndicated. Now he is nothing more than a little propaganda mouthpiece for the Bush administration's liberal policies.

I haven't heard too much of Hannity lately but I think he was against the
ports deal, unlike Rush (and I hear Rush was supposedly slamming "another
host" today, poss. Hannity). Sean has said he'll disagree with Bush on
occasion and will let it be known; he considers himself more a Conservative
than a Republican, etc.

Interesting that while Bush/GOP has tilted left (mucho spending), the libs
paint him as being far-far-far right. All a matter of perspective; liberals
railed against Ahh-nuld when he ran yet some conservatives feel the Calif.
gov is a Republican in name Only!

Will Sean lose a lot of affiliates what with the Citadel deal?...by the way,
he's doing well with a $5 mil. a year deal, so I can see how he can afford
Ruth's Chris--then again, as they advertise he probs gets to eat there for
free anyway! :)

In my opinion my fave hosts are Howie Carr and Laura Ingraham and I like
Hannity too, but he's on opposite Howie in Boston now...

Fantastic. Hannity has zero debating skills and whenever a caller is allowed to answer with more than the usual "yes or no", Sean puts his foot in his mouth and proves just how uneducated and clueless he truly is. "Dr" Hannity's HS education shines through the few times he lets a caller actually debate him.

Millions of listeners, #2 rated nationally behind Rush and a hugely
successful cable news show. It ain't Franken.

>>He is a three-time consecutive winner of Radio & Records National
Talk Show Host of The Year Award (2003, 2004 and 2005) as well as the National
Association of Broadcasting’s 2003 Marconi Award for Talk Show Host of the Year,
and the Talkers Magazine 2003 Freedom of Speech Award.

>> from his college radio station

HS education, eh?

>>In September 1996, Hannity joined Fox News Channel as co-host of Hannity & Colmes, the #1
debate show and the #1 9:00 PM cable news show in America.

Do your homework, just because Hannity went to college for a lil bit (like the pill-head, El Lardo) doesn't mean he came anywhere close to graduating...They both possess a HS education.
